ARM was responsible for the preparation of a needs assessment and a pre-feasibility study for the development of an integrated system for wastewater collection, treatment and reuse of irrigation for a community of 6000 inhabitants in BeniZeid municipality in Palestine. The project covered an area of 35,000 acres (including 1000 acres of residential area, 25000 as agricultural areas and 9000 as uncultivated areas).
ARM prepared a Preliminary Environmental Impact Assessment and a Scoping study as part of the pre-feasibility study. A Baseline study was carried out for the area. Also, the impacts of the project (environmental and socio-economic) were identified and evaluated. Naturally, such a project had more of a positive impact due to the fact that wastewater will be managed properly, land will be cultivated and income will be generated. An environmental monitoring plan was developed during the construction and operation phase of the project.
